Starting his career as a Tax Associate at the USAID Revenue for Growth project, Tom showcased his expertise in digital financial management, ensuring tax compliance and fostering sustainable economic growth. His role, characterized by meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of fiscal policies, significantly impacted the financial landscape of the projects he was involved in.<\/p>\n

Tom’s passion for education led him to the University of Zambia, where he not only excelled academically but also actively contributed as a Teaching Assistant. In embracing the spirit of global citizenship, Tom became part of the African Union Youth Reference Committee under the office of the Youth Envoy. This role provided him with a unique platform to collaborate on peace and digital initiatives, emphasizing his commitment to a harmonious and digitally connected Africa. Additionally, his experience as a Customs Officer at the Zambia-Mozambique border not only honed his professional acumen but also sensitized him to the nuances of peace and security issues in conflict regions through digitization of processes.<\/p>\n

Tom has served as a Local Pathway Fellow for the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network where he actively engages local communities in finding digital solutions in health service delivery and accessibility. In addition to that, he is an alumnus of the Farafina Institute E-change project in Germany and Kenya where he worked dearly to find digital solutions to the problem of climate change and migration. He is also a co-founding member of the Afro-Impact initiative, an organization that spans across Zambia, Kenya, Eswatini and Ghana.<\/p>\n
